Welcome to Øvre-Eide Farm, a unique place nestled in historical surroundings five minutes from Bergen city centre. We are a family-run farm with roots back to the 16th century, and accommodate visitors from all over the world.

FARM VISITS

​

Small and large groups alike are welcome to visit the farm for a tour of the place, and a taste of the local cuisine. You will be guided through our land, given information about the surroundings and Norway in general, and of course meet our friendly animals. We will serve you a selection of traditional Norwegian food such as sour cream porridge, smoked salmon, hot chocolate, almond cakes etc., depending on the length and type of your visit. We conclude the tour by showing you some local Norwegian national costumes. Families are also welcome, and especially kids love roaming around the farm feeding and petting the animals. We are very flexible, and can tailor the trip complying with your wishes!

HIKING TOURS

An alternative way to visit the farm is to hike from Mount Fløyen, and end the tour at the farm where you will get a small taste of traditional Norwegian food. Our guide will pick you up in the city centre, and walk you through a beautiful mountain landscape of forests, lakes and brooks, while providing you with facts about the local area - and of course some traditional Norwegian hiking snacks!

HORSEBACK RIDING

Explore Bergen in a remarkable way, with our unique horse riding tours on the scenic mountains surrounding the city. Our four horses, Tia, Rosa, Rinja and Lily are classic Norwegian breeds - Fjord Horse and Dole Horse - and ready to take you on an unforgettable trip, where you can enjoy magnificent views from places such as Mount Fløyen. This is an amazing opportunity to see another side of Bergen, hidden from the typical tourist traps. You will experience tranquil nature; brooks, lakes, forests and fresh mountain air!
